In Apotheken kann man alles rund um die Gesundheit einkaufen. In erster Linie Medikamente, die dort teilweise auch hergestellt werden. Arzneimittel, die eine Beratung brauchen, dürfen ausschließlich in Apotheken verkauft werden (Apothekenpflicht). Das sind in jedem Fall alle verschreibungspflichtigen Medikamente, für die ein Rezept erforderlich ist. Es gibt einen Notdienst der Apotheken, an dem die einzelnen Apotheken wechselnd außerhalb der üblichen Geschäftszeiten notdienstbereit sind.
