Gemeinsam versuchen sie eine möglichst gute und umfassende Karte der Region [[Pforzheim]] zu erstellen. Da das Straßennetz der Stadt nahezu vollständig ist, arbeiten sie jetzt vorwiegend an Feinheiten. Wie etwa Buslinien, Briefkästen oder auch Gebäudeumrisse und Hausnummern. <br /> <br /> Nach der von Pfenz mit organisierten [[Stadtwiki:Projekte/OSM-Pforzheim|Mappingparty]] am 6 und 7. September [[2008]], gab es als Folge das erste Treffen einiger Mapper. Auf dem zweiten Treffen sind noch einige Interessenten dazu gestoßen. Anfang Februar [[2009]] findet das nächste Treffen statt. <br /> <br /> Im Wiki von Openstreetmap wurde eine Seite für den problemlosen Austausch der regionalen Mapper eingerichtet.<br /> <br /> == Das Projekt ==<br /> Das OpenStreetMap-Projekt (OSM) hat es sich zum Ziel gesetzt, freie geographische Daten zu sammeln die zum Beispiel für Straßen- oder Radwegkarten genutzt werden können und der Allgemeinheit zur Verfügung zu stellen. Das Projekt wurde begonnen, weil so ziemlich alle Karten, von denen man glaubt, dass sie von jedem für alle Zwecke und kostenlos verwendbar sind, tatsächlich aus technischen und rechtlichen Gründen leider nur eingeschränkt nutzbar sind. Dadurch wird verhindert, dass Leute diese Karten in kreativer und produktiver Weise einsetzen können. OpenStreetMap hilft diesem unglücklichen Zustand ab. <br /> <br /> == Regionale Ergebnisse ==<br /> : Das Straßennetz von Pforzheim haben sie inzwischen zu etwa 98% erfasst. <br /> : Durch die besondere Arbeit von zwei Aktiven ist eine &quot;Point of interest&quot;-Slippy Map für den Großraum Pforzheim erstellt worden.
